Although Prague is one of the hottest cities to visit in Europe right now, the amazing and historical city of Kutna Hora is still a pearl that not many people have seen. This makes for an amazing one-day visit from Prague, although spending the night there is never a bad idea. You'll be able to explore the cobbled streets, the magnificent architecture, a breath-taking Cathedral and you can visit the ''Bone Church" which is a one-of-a-kind Church, it is as the name suggest a Church that's decorated with bones. An amazing forest that surrounds the city, and a lot of beer, it is a perfect part of Bohemia, without the usual crowds.
How long? A 48 hour visit with one night stay, will be enough time to visit the city and enjoy the nature.
How to get there? Trains from Prague are a great way to go there, and they don’t take more than an hour.
- Valsugana, Italy
Valsugana offers amazing walks, perfect lakes of water sports, and everything you would want to do in covered with snow mountains and a backdrop decorated with alpine trees. The Garda Lake could be the most famous lake here, the lakes here have still the hidden atmospheres of precious gems. Most of the lakes here are awarded with the blue flag for the quality of the beaches and the water. The second that you see the shining purity of the lakes and the families that work near the beaches, you'll understand why this region deserves these awards. There are also small charming villages here, wine producers, mountain biking, with an amazing view of Dolomite, there is also an arts gallery up in the mountains!
How long? A few days as a part of a tour in Trentino, or you could spend a week here in an amazingly relaxing stay in the nature.
How to get there? You could take the train from Austria, or from Verona to Trento, where the regional line connects with Valsugana. Local cards which also have accommodation can offer free regional public transport.
- Kyiv, Ukraine
Ukraine is one of the places which hasn’t had the fairest of coverages in the last years, but although Chernobyl has become a touristic attraction on its own, we hope that Kyiv and the other parts of the country, including other hidden gems like Lyiv, get more recognition. A relatively green city, with a lot of lake beaches that have amazing comedy clubs, incredible cuisine filled with Georgian restaurants and a great number of Churches with golden blocks to gawk at. Kyiv is an ideal European vacation city that is considerably cheap.
How long? An ideal weekend in the city.
How to get there? Being a capital, the city has international flights.
- Sutherland and Moray, Scotland
Scotland has indeed been the center of tourism these last years, with Edinburg Festivals, the Isle of Skye, it has been hitting the peak of tourism. Sutherland and Moray are two parts of the country that you'll love in your journey. You can use the public transport or take a car for a road travel in Scotland. Although Inverness didn’t get the fame of Edinburg or that of Glasgow, there are also a lot of hidden gems to explore on a short trip. On Sutherland the star of the show is the Dunrobin Castle, a magnificent old building which is placed on beautiful gardens. Moray on the other hand has mouth opening ruins of the Elgin Cathedral. Thorough the coastline you can find a lot of cute cities with which have a killer view.
How long? The best way to spend your time here is in a road trip through Scotland, or use Inverness as a base for a long weekend to explore.
How to get there? Inverness is the main city of the biggest region of the Highlands, offering a lot of flights. As an alternative you could start your road trip through Edinburg.
- San Marino
It’s surrounded by Italy, the Emilia-Romagna region to be more specific, San Marino is the oldest republic in the world that still offers some weird reasons to be visited, this is the reason why it can be considered a hidden gem of Europe. Between three towers, the amazing view of the Titano mountain and a small group of weird museums, it’s a very exciting place to visit. While a lot of people make the mistake by coming here like in a museum, just a daily visit, but staying here through the night offers you incredible sunsets and unbelievably beautiful sun rises.
How long? People will tell you to only come here for a one-day trip. Don’t listen to them, spend at least a night here, you can combine it with a visit to the famous Italian region for its food, Emilia Romagna.
How to get there? Just outside the Rimini train station, there are busses that go to San Marino
