According to a strategic cooperation agreement inked with two public higher education institutions in Israel, the University of Mostar will collaborate on the development of artificial intelligence and information technology programs as well as the digital transformation of society.
In accordance with agreements announced on Friday by the Azrieli College of Engineering in Jerusalem and the Holon Institute of Technology in Tel Aviv, the only higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina where classes are conducted in the Croatian language, agreements have been signed with both the Azrieli College of Engineering in Jerusalem and the Holon Institute of Technology in Tel Aviv. Rector Zoran Tomi of the University of Mostar (SUM) stated that the university aspires to be an international leader in the field of information technology and social transformation through digitalization.
In addition, we intend to be leaders in cyber security doctorate studies and the development of artificial intelligence software. Israeli universities and research institutes are eager to collaborate with us as strategic partners. Tomic stated that "strategic trust" has been formed, and that "we must use it now."
He went on to say that SUM has the potential to become an international center for digital transformation.
The team from this institution from Mostar paid visits to the Azrieli College of Engineering and its business accelerator, as well as to the Holon Institute of Technology, which is located in Israel (HIT).
Tomislav Volari, Assistant Rector for Information Technology and Innovation at SUM in Mostar, stated that during his visit to HIT, it was agreed that he would initiate a startup program focused on the development of artificial intelligence with this institution the next year.
One of the University's goals is to establish itself as a well-known location for the study and development of artificial intelligence-based solutions. According to Volari, innovation is something that can only be learned from the state of Israel (a startup nation).
Additionally, a group from the University of Mostar participated in the Cybertech Tel Aviv 2022 conference, which is the most important B2B platform for networking in the worldwide cyber business and was held during his visit to Israel.
