Two years ago, Carl Pei, one of the company's founders, announced his retirement from OnePlus, a prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer whose new phone models produced lines similar to those that developed while Apple enthusiasts waited for the start of sales of new iPhones. According to the Android Central website, it might be the spiritual heir of OnePlus, which was formerly popular in the United States.
